Atonement (rereading after seeing the movie)- Even better than I remembered.
Becky by Lenore Hart- The "real" Becky Thatcher tells her story during the civil war. It's okay so far, kinda slow but I'm hoping it will pick up soon.
Jesus for President by Idon'trememberwho and I'mtootiredtocheck- I'm loving this book. Frankly, I picked it up at the library to ridicule because the goofy title caught my eye, but it's blowing my mind. I'm dying to discuss it. Anyone?
Saturday by Ian McEwan- Haven't really done more than glanced at this one yet. It will be my Second Ian McEwan novel, after Atonement. I'm not sure if it can measure up
The Ordinary Princess by M. M. Kaye- A childhood favorite. It's a lovely, light fairy tale with plenty of tongue-in-cheek humor. My only argument? Whoever approved this edition's cover art should be sentenced to hard labor. The author (who was also a children's book illustrator) illustrated the book beautifully when it was written. Why do editors do stupid things like commission ugly new cover art for a book that already has wonderful artwork? Luckily the drawings in the book are still intact but the cover makes me want to throw something. At someone.

I love Klutz
When I was a nanny I used to pretend I was buying Klutz books "for the kids." Uh huh. Like the time I put the kids down for a nap because I wanted to play with their wooden train set without any input, dammit! Oh, um, just kidding, of course. I would never really do something like that! I mean, it was naptime anyway. Plus I would have had to pick it up and put it away anyway, so what if I built my own 20 foot railroad first? They were doing it wrong, okay?
Ahem, anyway.. I have loved Klutz books for years. Such great ideas, such fun delivery! And the packaging! Each book includes everything you need to do all of the projects contained. I was so excited when I realized that I was actually moving to the land of Klutz (the company started in Palo Alto). I have now been to the actual Klutz store. I have given up any pretense and admitted that there is an eight-year-old living under my "grownup" skin.
